Anhui: fully develop semiconductor materials

On April 8, Anhui Province issued the 'Anhui Province '14th Five-Year Plan' New Materials Industry Development Plan (hereinafter referred to as the 'Plan').

The 'Planning' pointed out that at present, the scale of my country's new material industry continues to expand, and the output value in 2020 has exceeded 5 trillion yuan.

In addition, the innovation ability has been significantly improved. At present, it has mastered the 300mm silicon wafer preparation technology for integrated circuits with line widths of 65-90nm and the laboratory preparation technology of 450mm silicon single crystal without dislocations.

In addition, driven by policies, technologies and markets, the domestic new material industry has shown a clear trend of agglomeration and development, forming three comprehensive new material industry clusters in the Bohai Rim, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta.

The 'Planning' points out that three major advanced basic materials will be vigorously developed, including advanced metal materials, advanced chemical materials, and new silicon-based materials.

Silicon-based new materials include semiconductor materials, new display materials, new energy materials and special silicon-based materials.

In terms of semiconductor materials, it will focus on new energy, advanced storage, intelligent voice, intelligent electric vehicles, next-generation display technology, precision medicine and other fields, consolidate and enhance the existing semiconductor materials in Hefei and Chizhou, and focus on the development of large-scale silicon wafers and other first Generation semiconductor materials, high-purity indium phosphide (InP) substrate materials, gallium nitride materials and other second/third generation semiconductor materials, as well as packaging and testing materials, etc.

Expand the scale of MEMS packaging and testing, and create a MEMS packaging and testing industry cluster with global influence. Promote the formation of mass production capacity of 8-inch integrated circuit wafer manufacturing production lines in Jinan and Qingdao, and accelerate the increase in the production capacity of large-size silicon wafers, photomasks, photoresists and other manufacturing materials.

Improve the production technology level and market scale of silicon carbide substrates, and build new advantages in the field of third-generation semiconductors.
